What to expect during your first visit

Upon arriving, you’ll be welcomed by our friendly reception team. Then, you’ll be asked to fill out our patient forms to capture your medical and dental history. These forms are also available online if you’d like to complete them beforehand.

After completing our paperwork, it’s time for a comprehensive dental exam with our team. The dentist will physically and visually examine your teeth, gums, and other oral structures for signs of decay, gum disease, teeth grinding, and oral cancer to name a few.  . 

We’ll also take digital X-rays of your mouth to unearth hidden issues that are not noticeable in a standard exam. Jittery about dental X-rays? Don’t be! We use modern radiographs that emit 80%-90% less radiation than film-based X-rays. 

After your dental exam, our dental hygienist will professionally clean your teeth to remove built-up plaque and tartar. Even though you brush and floss your teeth daily, your mouth has trouble spots that are hard to access with at-home dental tools. Professional teeth cleanings remove accumulated dental calculus to prevent cavities, gum disease, bad breath, and other issues.

What should I bring to my first visit?

For a smooth first appointment, please bring the following with you:

• Any completed medical forms
• Any dental X-rays taken in the past six months, but if you don’t have them, we’ll take them in our office
• A list of current medications
• Insurance card, where necessary. If you don’t have insurance, we have partnered with CareCredit for affordable payment plans
• Photo ID

It’s also good to mention any current concerns you may have with your oral health to our team. We’ll also ask you about your goals regarding your smile and overall health to provide customized dental care.
